Personality.
Entrepreneurship.
At the heart of our education is working towards fulfilling your ambitions and developing your talent. Our education is vocationally oriented with both theory and subject-specific skills.
Everything around you was once conceived, designed and made. The advertising campaign of your favourite brand, the furniture in your house or the crockery you eat from. Solving social issues, for example, also requires creativity. How do you get people to separate their waste? Or how do you use technology to prevent the elderly from getting lonely?
Creativity, knowledge, skills
During your education at SintLucas, you develop knowledge and skills within your field. The development of your creativity plays a major role in this. Coming up with new ideas and experimenting is a common thread throughout the entire programme. You will also learn how to apply the latest technologies and techniques. In addition, we pay a lot of attention to your personal development and professional attitude. We challenge you to get the best out of yourself and to show how you stand out from others. Finally, we think entrepreneurship is important. Whether you start your own company or work as an employee, an entrepreneurial attitude is important everywhere. And of course subjects like Dutch, English and maths are also on the programme.

Personal learning route
At the heart of our education is that you work to fulfil your ambitions. And that you further develop your talent. When you start at SintLucas, your programme is therefore not yet completely mapped out. Together with your career coach, teachers and fellow students, you make choices that fit your interests and learning wishes. We offer Optional subjects for this purpose. These are modules for deepening or broadening your education, preparing you for a continuation of education, starting your own company or finding a job.
Working on real projects
By working on projects, you give further substance to your studies. These are projects that companies or social organisations submit to SintLucas. And you can work on your own projects, for example, based on voluntary work you do or a great idea you have. Your choices for work placements give further direction to your development. With most study programmes, you do two work placements with two different organisations, perhaps even abroad! And if you have more to offer, we offer the possibility of following an excellence route. The Bachelor’s programme in cooperation with the University of Northampton is a good example of this.
Orientation phase: does SintLucas suit me?
Starting a new course is quite exciting. What kind of school is SintLucas? What is expected of me? What do the lessons look like? In order to prepare you for your study programme and to discover whether SintLucas suits you, in the first four weeks of the study programme we will work intensively on the above questions. We do this by means of various activities and assignments. Your career coach and the other teachers will guide you through this. So that you make a conscious choice for SintLucas and can study with confidence and pleasure!
How do you learn?
SintLucas is a vocational school. Practice is the basis of our education. That’s why the learning environment at school already resembles your future workplace. You also increasingly learn at locations outside school. And during the study programme, you work on projects of real clients, alone or in groups. Whether it is a film, a house style, a stained-glass production or an interior, you will learn what is important in your future profession.During the internship, you will put into practice the knowledge and skills you have acquired at school. In most programmes, you will do two internships at two different organisations. Perhaps you will opt for an internship abroad!

Guidance
During training at SintLucas, we challenge you to get the best out of yourself. What do I want to become and what choices belong to that? You will not do this alone, but with your career coach who will guide you throughout your study programme. You will discuss your development and results with your career coach. Together, you will make choices for your study progress. In addition, there is a whole team of teachers and instructors who are closely involved in your studies.
