Our education

Creative
Small-scale
Safe

SintLucas is a creative vmbo where we capitalise on technological developments and growth is paramount. We are a small-scale, safe school where you are seen and heard and where you can be yourself. In a respectful environment, you develop individuality and self-confidence.

Vision

We encourage open-mindedness, creative talent and perseverance. At the heart of our education is that our students and staff work with pride and pleasure to fulfil their passions. We pay great attention to a good general theoretical foundation. Our main interest is that pupils successfully progress to suitable (creative) secondary education. SintLucas guides all pupils to the right place!

Education

Within our vmbo education, we have the following principles:

  • We provide leading vocational education;
  • We value individuality and pride;
  • We have an educational climate focused on growth and fun;
  • We are small-scale and learner-centred.

Media, design and ICT profile

The vmbo at SintLucas offers the Media, Design and ICT profile, MVI for short. Working from a profile gives pupils more choices and opportunities to investigate which course and which profession best suits them. The MVI profile is always a combination of theory and practice. It consists of general education subjects (avo subjects), the vocational profile subjects and vocational-oriented electives. Watch a film about the profile and the optional subjects here.

Career orientation and guidance

LOB stands for Career Orientation and Guidance. During LOB, pupils gain insight into their own talents and identity. He does this by constantly looking back at meaningful experiences and looking ahead to new challenges. The pupil learns to reflect during Personality lessons, the mentor hour, during Go and the elective courses and in conversation with the mentor. Because the pupil becomes increasingly aware of his own competences and skills, he can make better choices in his career during and after SintLucas. All LOB activities, reflections and developments are recorded in the career file.

Internationalisation

Globalisation is pushing boundaries. International cooperation, the internet and travel make personal and business contacts across borders increasingly natural. A student completing secondary school now stands a good chance of ending up in an international study, work or living environment. We offer our students the opportunity to gain experience through foreign exchange programmes and internships. Young people who already get to know international and intercultural society through internationalisation at school have a broader perspective and better chances in the international labour market.
