Getting to work in practice is what our students from the Stage & Event Technology programme do in abundance. This was also the case at Rowwen Heze’s annual closing concert! Students Noud and Sem supported the professional crew in setting up and dismantling the concert.
Noud: “Based on your interests and experience, you could choose which work you wanted to do. Sem and I both have practical experience and were allowed to help with rigging, for example. I also programmed the lights together with someone from Stagelight.”
Sem: “We actually helped out everywhere. Built several stages and installed the LED wall with Houben, the image company. During the concert, we supported the stage crew with changing the sets for the different artists.” It was a learning experience for both of them.
Noud: “In particular, I learned to ‘build to break’, because the time between the different artists is short, you have to be able to quickly break down what you have set up. Sem adds: “I learned a lot about rigging. And it was nice that we were there for several days, what you had learned the previous day you could immediately use again.”

Collaboration with SintLucas
SintLucas is continuously looking for meaningful collaborations with companies, organisations and other parties. To help students make the step from school to the job market even better, SintLucas likes to cooperate with organisations in the surrounding area. Through projects in education, students gain extra work experience in their field in addition to their work placement.
