The week from 31 May to 3 June 2023 kicked off the anniversary year in which we celebrated the 75th anniversary with activities for pupils, students, alumni, staff, retirees and our partners.
Where it began
In 1948, a winter school for sons of Catholic painting companies from all over the Netherlands, the Roman Catholic Painting School St. Lucas Foundation, started in Boxtel. The school, with a director and three teachers in the early years, develops into a creative vocational school via advertising painting and window painting.
Meanwhile, a lower technical school for printing techniques was started in Eindhoven in 1964. This is joined by a secondary technical school in 1972. In 1994, this becomes the Graphic Lyceum and in 2004 the name changes to The Eindhoven School. Printing techniques are then only a small part of the programme; creative-technical courses increasingly take over.
The vocational school for meaningful creativity
In 2009 SintLucas and The Eindhoven School (administratively) joined forces, from 2012 it is an organisation called SintLucas. With courses ranging from creative craft to creative technology, SintLucas is now the vocational school for meaningful creativity. Pupils and students contribute with their creativity to making society more beautiful, sustainable and social.
75 years of creating opportunities
The mission of SintLucas has been the same from the start, guiding talented young people towards a bright future. By now, some 26,000 students already have the honorary title of Sint! Not only pupils and students are given opportunities to develop. This also applies to employees and external partners. 75 years of Creating opportunities!

Alumni reunion
Once a Saint, always a Saint! Our alumni had signed up in large numbers for the reunion! There were even entire classes who had come together to the festive evening. During this event, our new alumni platform SintLucas Alumni was also launched. The place for alumni where they find each other, collaborate, inspire, innovate and share job opportunities. Anyone who wants to contribute can contribute!

Growth
We give our pupils, students and staff room to grow and develop themselves. To blossom into meaningful, creative talents, ready for the future. Ready for the sustainable development of the world around us. For the celebration of our 75th anniversary, we therefore gave a sustainable gift to our living environment by planting trees in the Brabant Green Forest. Instead of a gift, relations donated a contribution to Trees for All. Thank you!
