We know that healthcare is changing. Care group Elde Maasduinen (ZGEM) and creative vocational school SintLucas looked for a stimulating and surprising visual translation of the future of healthcare. This is how the exhibition Samenzorg came about. An exhibition full of images with emotion and humour, or very abstract. To be viewed freely by everyone at least until 1 May 2023 in Liduina Care Home in Boxtel.
Together, life is more beautiful. Even if you live in a nursing home. Then, loved ones are perhaps even more important than before. If normal life continues, it is of great value to residents and staff alike. In practice, this is still far from obvious. This exhibition full of images with emotion, humour or, conversely, abstraction makes this subject open for discussion in a beautiful way.
Grandma as a model
Ten students of the Spatial Design course at SintLucas were given the challenge to visualise this. As a result, every single one of them is a picture to remember. One of the students says: “It was so much fun working with my own grandmother! I noticed that she loved going out with me and acting as a photo model. It really got me thinking. Not only about the assignment, but also about how I interact with my grandmother.”

Helping hand
Lending a hand
“We deliberately chose to launch the exhibition in Liduina. Here it is right in the heart of elderly care, where the conversation is about,” says Janneke Heesakkers, communications advisor at ZGEM and co-initiator of the exhibition. “We hope to spark more conversation around co-care. Co-care is a very hot topic in elderly care. When family or friends of residents lend a hand, you see that it does so much to everyone on the ward. It really brings moments of happiness in life” adds Hanneke van der Meide, programme manager of Samen Zorgen.
Travelling exhibition
The exhibition is meant to travel. So it can go to different locations of ZGEM, but also fellow care institutions can use it. The realisation of the Exhibition Together Care was partly made possible by the collaboration Iedereen Zorgen. In it, elderly care organisations in North-East Brabant work together on the challenges of the future.
