In the FIRST® Tech Challenge, youngsters (12 – 18 years old) are challenged to design, build and program robots.
But, the FIRST Tech Challenge is more than working on robots. Young people are motivated to pursue education and career opportunities in science and technology and discover their own talent in it. At the same time, they develop self-confidence, entrepreneurship and skills in collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking, communication and other future-oriented skills. This fits seamlessly with SintLucas’ future-oriented educational vision. In addition, SintLucas’ education building offers all facilities to organise this event.
Exciting finals
A total of 58 teams from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Norway and Lithuania are taking part in the competition. The best 28 teams will advance to the Championship on 11 February at SintLucas in Eindhoven. During this Championship, the teams will compete in alliances against each other in
exciting robot competitions. Final rounds will ultimately determine which team becomes the winner in this section. The team that is judged the best in all areas by the expert jury wins the main prize of the tournament, The Inspire Award. The Inspire Award winner and the winner of the robot finals ultimately qualify for an entry to the World Championship in Houston, USA. The event is free to all and open to the public from 13:00. Definitely worth visiting!
