The world of media and entertainment is growing fast and requires people who know what is involved in producing. As a Creative producer, you are the spider in the web: you arrange everything, create unique content and experiences and know how to get the right message across.
In the first year of the Producer programme, you will be introduced to different fields of expertise: Event. Entertainment and Media & Content. After that, you can either specialise in one of these fields or develop into an all-round Creative Producer.
You will work on challenging projects and learn practical skills such as production, project management, digital skills, creative thinking and marketing communication. In addition, a lot of attention is paid to your personal development.
Study evenings
A study evening is an evening where you are introduced to our school and MBO programmes. A study evening is organised on a smaller scale than an open day. Our study evenings take place on: 25 March, 17 April and 3 June from 17.00 – 20.00.

What am I doing?
The first year of the Creative Producer programme is a broad orientation year, in which you are introduced to all fields of study. From year 2 onwards, you can deepen your knowledge of the following areas or develop into a versatile Creative Producer.
Media & Content
You will create content with text and images for various communication media to inform or influence. For example, information on waste separation or a campaign to promote a new product. You arrange the production and work together with, for instance, copywriters, photographers, video companies and web designers. You monitor the message of the content, advise on media use, create content plans and manage social media channels and websites.
Entertainment
You work on productions for e.g. film, television, podcast or shows in the role of creative producer. You prepare the production with call sheets, scripts and schedules. You do this in consultation with the technicians, cameramen, presenters, artists, the director and others involved. In the hectic day of filming, you ensure that people and resources are in the right place at the right time and that everything runs smoothly. You agree with the editors which images and texts need to be available before, during or after a show.
Event
As a Creative producer at events, your main task is to create an experience, whether it is a festival or an e-sports event. You do this together with a team including production technicians, marketeers, programmers and hospitality staff. To this end, you make schedules, crew rosters and agreements with all parties involved. You then help build the event. Then you work on the floor and backstage. You will learn to solve unexpected situations immediately.
What am I learning?
You become a Creative Producer mainly by learning in practice. During the creative producer programme, you therefore work a lot on assignments of real clients. In addition, you learn from creatives and technicians inside and outside SintLucas. You develop knowledge and skills in the field of media production, project management, creative thinking and acting, concept development and research. Writing texts and creating content for social media are also important components. In addition, you learn to work with various software packages.
Naturally, general subjects such as Dutch, English, maths and citizenship are also on the programme.
Where do I do my internship?
Depending on your interests and learning wishes, you choose an internship. You can choose an advertising or field marketing agency, a social agency, a company’s communications department or you will work at an influencer or fashion company.
If your interest lies in events, festival or trade fair organisers, e-sports event agencies or convention centres offer opportunities. For internships in the field of entertainment, you can go to television and film production companies, streaming services, radio and, for example, podcast producers. What should I be able to do and like?
As a Creative producer, you have a talent for arranging and organising in collaboration with others. You easily establish contact, whether with a designer, technician, manager or marketer. You are also good at coming up with creative solutions. You see opportunities where others give up and a deadline gives you energy. You are curious and know better than anyone what is hip and happening. You keep a close eye on trends in the media world and like to go out and discover new things.
If you are interested in the communication side of the profession, you obviously love writing, can empathise with others and are active on social media.
What can I do after SintLucas?
After SintLucas, there are plenty of opportunities to continue your studies at higher vocational education institutes in the field of Communication, Creative business, Journalism, Commercial economics or, for example, Event. If you want to work, as a Creative producer you are welcome in many places: in the world of entertainment, within the communication profession or in the field of events. Starting your own company or working as a freelancer is of course also possible!
How does application and admission work?
You will apply for the programme of your choice via our website from 1 November 2024. After your application, you will receive an invitation for a matching interview at SintLucas. During an interview with a teacher and student from the study programme of your choice, together we will see if you and SintLucas are a match. Above all, we have an open and relaxed conversation, so you can make a good study choice. In preparation for the interview, you can bring (creative) work with you. It is also possible to make an assignment. After the interview, you will receive a study advice. This advice can be positive (we think you fit in with SintLucas and the study programme) or negative (we think another school and study programme would suit you better).
